It's a dog's (and cat's) life

Hamish has taken to lying with his head on the hearth really close to the fire. I have no idea how he tolerates the heat, but he does. He had his right paw up on it as well, pretty much as close as he could comfortably get. Mr Hendry seems to be enjoying the fire too but clearly values his whiskers more than Hamish.
