Anyone for a ride?

Sultan knows exactly the wettest, muddiest spot on the field and heads there as soon as he is allowed out in the morning. Once pancaked he knows there's little chance of him getting the halter put on and having to go out for a ride. Tried to catch him grinning but he did his best to resist.

And so it was: Rosie, the black Quarter, had to do the "dog walk run" but as in the last few days it was again very tricky, the ground is still frozen under the top film of water/mud. One can see patches of ice on the photo between the puddles. I gave up trying to do anything in the garden as it was just too dangerous - one horse fell over on the ice when coming in last night.

When she got back Angie set about at least making ice free paths to the most important places. I will try to post a photo of her on my bee journal, the hives are in the background which just about justifies it.

Angie has to work tomorrow so it should be an early night but she is watching the 114th "Rosamunde Pilcher" film on TV (The link has a trailer). They are all German productions filmed mainly in the West Country (a few in Scotland, I think). All 114 have the same storyline and are really not good EXCEPT for the scenes of cliffs, beaches, rivers etc. Always take place in spring/summer, so if you are in the West Country next year and see cars/vans/trucks with German plates and the wording "ZDF" then you can be pretty sure what they are up to. It's running at the moment and I keep looking up when the dialogue stops and the picture cuts to an aerial shot!

I daren't say it but I know of a fellow Bliper who was asked recently to give Rosamunde Pilcher a lift to the airport and refused. Luckily he isn't a German as he would probably be beheaded as a cultural pagan.

UNREAL - Had just posted when Miss Pilcher ended and was followed by "Inspector Barnaby" which most will know as "Midsomer Murders". Tonight is a 2009 episode (new to German TV) showing a cowboy ride in to Ford Florey on a white horse.........."Blood on the saddle"..

This getting silly - second edit : a new series of Downton Abbey has just started on another of ZDF's programmes.
