Family circle

Had the family round today. Had a good laugh too and Gill cooked a brilliant meal. Rob made a santa hat for Pippa. Christmas has begun. Had some nice sun and trees this morning but the family won out.

The camera was balanced on a low stool pointing to the ceiling with two softboxes propped on either side so they could throw their light upwards. The hard-part depended on people scrumming together and trying to keep still (yeah, right) for the low shutter speed. No need to say cheese. I used a fish eye but probably didn't need it.

A chew by the camera might have persuaded Pippa to look down but I didn't know she was going to be in the picture. I have no control over this lot. Two or three takes and they'd had enough! The inspiration for this, incidentally, came from this tree shot two days ago which probably explains why I used the fisheye lens again.
