Me and James

This is me (in a an unevenly buttoned coat )and a statue of James Joyce in Dublin about six years ago. James Joyce is the inspiration for my dissertation, so he's an important author to me.

You can follow the journey that Leopold Bloom takes around Dublin in Joyce's novel Ulysses. Alas, I was not with a bunch of literature buffs, so I wasn't able to follow in Bloom's footsteps. Maybe one day I'll get the chance.

I've been thinking a lot about my dissertation lately, so this picture has been on my mind. I've been so busy teaching this last five months that I haven't been able to get any work done on it. I hope I'm able to make the time next semester.
