Flipping on our deserted beach
Up a little earlier than normal to go on our snorkel trip that we organised the day before. Had a very quick breakfast before getting our flippers and snorkels and then hopping on the boat. Our first snorkel point was were all the turtles were. There was a gigantic one that most people were swimming around. Felt rather sorry for it as a silly Asian person grabbed onto it when it was swimming up for air. So so funny seeing all the chinese people snorkelling as they have their life jackets on and all hold hands whilst swimming! Next point had MASSES of fish. Some of them bite you. There were others on a different boat feeding them with bread so there were huge swarms of them. The coral is amazing. The next stop was where we swam with sharks. Morag stayed inside the boat!! The driver of the boat grabbed my hand and ‘helped me find a shark’! My mask came off and gulped masses of water! Found a shark, which I swam after and didn’t realise that I was actually swimming in circles!! They are all baby sharks. Our next place was lunch!! Woo. There weren’t enough seats and he started putting our group onto different tables, which was quite strange. Took for absolute ever to get our food and in the end Morag and I just shared the rice dish as the other dish didn’t come! We both spotted two extremely good looking guys sitting at a far table!! Sprinted back to the boat as the ground was far too hot and we didn’t take our flip flops with us. Did another couple of snorkel points before heading back to the main beach. At the last snorkel point Morag and I found this big fish which showed us it’s teeth. We swam super fast!! The water is so so clear it’s crazy. Back to Long Beach for a good rest! Had a rubbish cold shower to then go back to the boiling room. We went over to the other side of the beach this evening to watch the sunset. Bought some crisps and a drink and sat there for ages. The sky was amazing but we weren’t able to get a good picture. Met the people we were with the other night. Back over to the other side of the beach to get some grub. We then went to watch the fire show but went to get a drink first to take and then sit down. We saw the good looking guys sitting by themselves. We were contemplating about going over and chatting. When we got our second drink I maned up and went over to chat. Luckily they could speak English…haha! They were from Austria. We watched the fire show and then went to monkey bar. Sat at the top bit again and we just sat and all chatted for ages. We planned to meet up with them tomorrow to get a boat and go to a different beach. Morag and I were very happy that we had finally made some ‘fwends’! We lay on the beach at 4am in the morning and just star gazed, they are amazingly clear here.
