Early Light on Meadowbank Station
Today being the longest day called for an early start and a walk on the Wither Hills to celebrate. Off I went with new Nikon D610 Camera and gear. Alas, I chose the steepest track for my initial ascent to my favourite viewpoints. As I panted and puffed and struggled my way up the track the light kept changing infuriatingly quickly. The best was gone by the time I found a level spot to rest and set up camera and tripod.
All was not lost as the clouds came and went buffeted by a strong bitterly cold sou-easterly breeze. The sun and clouds were making interesting patterns of light, glorious light on Meadowbank Station to the west of the Wither hills Farm Park. Meadowbank is of course where I have been recording the establishment of a vineyard on the flats during the past few months. It is my dog territory as well. Fergus and Gypsy love the tracks abutting Meadowbank alongside the Taylor River. The Station land looks so very different from up on the hill… a grand sweeping landscape for me to blip today.
