Manger folk

This manger has been a part of our Christmas for many, many years. My intent was always to make it so that the children could play with it, getting hands on introduction to why we celebrate Christmas. And they do play, arranging and rearranging the figures. I keep adding to the animals and people; for some years we had two baby Jesuses in the manger. I had made one out of clay for lack of a better one, then upon finding a proper baby, I didn't have the heart to throw the first one out.
