Amaryllis

I love being surrounded by Christmas treats. I love the sparkle of ornaments and coloured lights on the fragrant tree, the green wreaths that we hang on the doors, the sweet smoke of birch logs as they catch fire in the airtight stove.

Today and tomorrow are set aside for baking and preparation: gingerbread, pastry, stuffing and pies. RJS is on call for last minute groceries because no matter how often I check the recipes something ends up missing.
