People Have The Power

To Lausanne with Mme SwRo this afternoon for the anti-foie gras demonstration. This was specifically directed at Migros, the largest supermarket chain in Switzerland. Although the production of foie gras has been prohibited in Switzerland since 1978, it is still sold widely especially at this time of year. Migros is particularly hypocritical, in that its advertising always includes mention of it's consideration for, and its ethical treatment of animals.

I was pleased to learn of similar campaigns in the UK against Fortnum and Mason, against this barbaric process. Here's a link for more information on the horrible treatment of these poor creatures:
