All the Fun of the Fair

Well, our first full day in London and it's pretty much rained all day. Never mind, we got our Oyster cards sorted and headed up to Spitalfields as that seems like a good area for us to rent an apartment for the year.
Can't believe how much that area has changed in the past 5 years. Lunch was a fabulous pie and mash with a side order of mushy peas (enjoying eating the foods I forgot about whilst in NY).
Stopped off at Cafe Rouge on the way back for a glass of red wine and to book a table for lunch with my folks tomorrow. The rain hasn't kept anyone away from the Xmas market along the Embankment where I took this photo of 2 children enjoying themselves on the carousel (random children - no relation : ) but they looked like they were having fun. It made me think about how you never care about the rain when you're a child as long as it doesn't spoil your fun.
