December Contrasts
Google says this is the first day of winter! Aye, right! --- as we say in these parts. Just because it's mild and wild and wet and windy with no s-word worth talking of, so far, doesn't mean we think late November and early December count as autumn.
However, wild though it is today, there are some benefits. The weather is so confused that, looking from the garden, we have wind-whipped trees in the foreground; brilliant sunshine in the middle ground and a broodingly dark, black and purple backdrop hiding the Campsie Fells from view. These are the amazing everyday contrasts I love.
