Batteries Not Included
Early blip today as I'm hoping to set off for Darlington around 10 ish and there will be lots to do when we get there, so getting a photo later in the day might prove difficult. If something does crop up, I might well replace this one, but for now it will have to do.
Inspired by many Christmases when the children would get a battery operated toy which invariably didn't include batteries. We very quickly adapted to this and so to avoid disappointment, would have a healthy stock of batteries in all shapes and sizes at the ready. Of course, these days, with only Jack being young enough (in body but not in mind) to have toys this is no longer such an issue. On this latter point, how time have changed. When I was 13, I'm pretty sure I would still have been receiving toys for Xmas, e.g. mecanno a chemistry set, an electrical set etc. It seems that these things have no interest to today's generation. I think it's a shame.
