Storm-Cloud Bird

We had a violent electric storm last night, quite unusual for this time of year. I have just learnt that robins are sacred to Thor, the god of thunder.

I have been bogged down with Mother/family issues again today. Jazzy and I went for a quick run round with the camera after lunch. I shot some dunnocks in one of the disused glasshouses and this robin sitting on a steam pipe.

We used to heat our crops with steam and I loved the reassuring sound of the condensate in the pipes clicking away, letting us know that the boilers were doing their job. We had an alarm in our bedroom to alert us if they failed.
