Spent a lovely day in York today with Mr A getting all his last minute presents for the family. The weather was really mild (unlike back home where it was windy & rainy).
I didn't have any requests of things to do or see; as I've been to York a few times before. Mr A hasn't been (other than with work) for a good few years and he specifically wanted to visit the National Railway Museum.
I have to say I was impressed; not only was it free admission but the trains themselves were all really nicely presented and it was great reading about the history behind them all. To see the carriage that King Edward used during his reign was amazing; the threadbare cushion on his desk chair where the royal bum had been was my particular favourite!
We had lunch there too which was all freshly prepared; the seating area was a replica of the trains dining cars.
Off then into York for a wander round the shops.
Luckily, Mr A was well equipped to cope with my shopping!
