Farewell
A visit to an old teacher was rather interesting. I appreciate an academic approach to life and questioning. We sat in the old room, lined by trees. And the wind. Old bookshelves, a rusty Hobner, poetry in photography and happiness. That is a bit of what we talked about. For a visitor, who does not get into the nitty-gritty of it all, the romance on the surface is alluring. Perhaps it is this, that's both the boon and the bane of a traveller.
The day ended bidding farewell to the Goddess. It is always a sad occasion. The Pujas are a great leveller. People from all segments of society (despite economic recession and inflation) rest their worries awhile. One of the brilliant things about this "carnival" of sorts is that everyone is equal. And everyone is invited.
We rounded things off at Someplace Else which is one of the better known pubs in the city. Some live Latino music, some dancing... that's how the day came to a close. There is much I wanted to shoot during the Pujas, much that I could not. I shall be back.
