Stupid Trees

On my way up to the highway this morning the sun started to break above the tree line, shrouded in a light layer of clouds. As I approached this farm I thought how wonderful it would be to capture the weather vane surrounded by the orange glow of the rising sun.

Looking to the passenger seat I realized I only had my 17-50mm lens. Getting out of the car I realized the sun was rising to the left of the weather vane, and to the right was a small stand of trees. I blame the trees, but I also should have brought my camera bag and not just my camera... Stupid me.

Tweaked a little with a ColorEFEX "skylight" filter.
