Jingle Bells

The tree was trimmed and the kids were singing Jingle Bells! There was great excitement when they were able to help finish the decorating. What fun they had looking at the ornaments, sparkling balls, tinsel, candy canes and ribbons. The decorations were carefully hung, taken off and admired, put back on, taken off and added to their pretend play, put back on, or sometimes left lying on the floor, and so on... Grandma's fun was watching them enjoy the sparkle and glitter. They loved having the overhead lights off with only the Christmas tree lights giving off a glow.
When I looked at the nativity scene, all the figurines were tightly surrounding Baby Jesus. It reminded me of what had happened with these two grand kids when our daughter was babysitting them. The youngest one saw the wise man (he had green coloring in her set) and decided he was the "bad guy". Our grand daughter immediately corrected him by saying, "There are no bad guys. They're all good guys who came to see Baby Jesus!"
It's been said before - children make Christmas!
