Where's my mum??

Tried to reunite this young fledgling wattle bird with its parents this afternoon. Not sure if they have been coming down to feed him in the makeshift nest I made (ice cream container gaffa taped to a small tree!). But am giving overnight out there before we'll intervene and send him off to a carer.

Reuniting healthy fledging birds is so much more preferable than having to send them off for hand-raising by humans - as good a job as rehabilitators do, they will never be able to do as good a job as the parents!

Fingers crossed he is still there in the morning and bright, happy and healthy :)
