Bringing Home the Bacon

I watched this flying insect (don't know what it is) drag this tiny dead, or paralysed spider (I think it's a Wolf spider) about 5 meters across the path to a cubby hole in the side of the path.

It was fascinating to watch. It would drag it about half a meter, then stop and run around in a circle, then drag it some more. When it got near to the edge of the concrete, it dropped the spider, then ran away to its cubby hole, then came back and dragged the spider there.

It must have been working out how much further it had to go.

Maybe the spider's for Christmas dinner.
I guess it's the bug equivalent of the Christmas turkey.

It's kind of gross, I know, but that's nature.
