Waiting

Even the fridge is waiting for Christmas. Online shopping order is expected on Saturday so this fridge won't be quite so empty then. Super handyman husband looked a bit horrified when I arrived home this afternoon with more supermarket shopping bags as he thought we'd finished shopping. I never like my visitors to not have enough food! I'm watching Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood as I do this and am very attracted by the mincemeat streusel. Watch this space.

Very windy and wet here at the moment so it's a good job we did the gathering of the holy and the ivy yesterday. Also had my first Christmas Dinner yesterday as we went for our Church Sociable Social Evening at the local Wetherspoons. Really good value meal in good company.

Work today - all went well - Y12 really are a lovely group to teach. We finished Robert Frost off with a Christmas Quiz on the content of his poems interspersed with some random questions such as "Why is Father Christmas depressed?" with points being awarded for the most creative answer. Of course we had some vaguely rude answers but they were very amusing.

Better light the advent candle now.
