Fish Heads

Last morning in Cappadocia, woken again by the balloons in the valley just outside our door. After a last breakfast on the terrace with the most hard-to-take view in the world, we headed to the airport and flew to Istanbul to meet up with B (another of my siblings) who has been travelling since April. Very excited to see her.

Met up at our hotel, lazed around and and chatted there for a while before catching the tram and funicular over to Beyo?lu. Did a spot of people watching as we walked down possibly the busiest pedestrian street in Istanbul, drank an overpriced (but tasty) beer on a rooftop terrace near the Galata Tower looking out over the Bosphorus, and wandered through the fish markets stopping there for a delicious dinner of fresh fish.

Headed home over the Galata bridge, past a whole lot of fishermen decidedly less successful than those at the market. Gave up on the walk after that as we'd all underdressed for the chilly Istanbul evening, and got the tram the rest of the way home.

Early night - B is in fine form but, seeing as she arrived in town at 3am and had 4 cups of tea with a crazy shop owner before sunrise, I'm sure she's a little weary!
