The Vermont 50 - Welcome to the Pain Cave
Today was the Vermont 50. Yesterday's sunny weather is gone. It's raining. It's pouring. Woke up at 4:30 for the race. Started in the dark. For the next 9 hours I suffered while climbing 9,000 feet, descending tight, twisty single track, and dragging my bike through some of the thickest mud I've ever seen.
I crash, I crawled, I climbed, I cried. After 9 hours, I finished.
I took this self-portrait with my Blackberry.
There's so much to say about this race, that I'm writing a novella about it now. But that requires energy I don't have.
