Aquilegia/Granny Bonnet

It's my birthday... 60 years ago I was the beginning of a new chapter in my young parents lives. Wish Poppa could have been here to share my day.

A lovely day it was too.

Had a great time at the Farmers market buying the last bits and pieces for the BBQ being held tonight at my brothers home. Half a wheel of beautiful fresh Brie, two sticks of ciabatta bread, Jersey Benne potatoes for potato salad, fresh carrots for crudites, and of course the usual order of bacon for bacon butties on Sunday night.

Coffee at Customhouse and then home to cook, and prepare for this evening.

Lovely evening had by all. Good food, good company, and good wine all topped by some lovely gifts including a quilt made for me by my very creative sister. John D and Maggie D were there as well albeit on the screen of a tablet that was carried around by various members of the family for the cake cutting and Hip Hoorahs.

Thank you everyone for a very pleasant celebration... it has been a long time since I went to bed with a smile on my face.
