School Carol Service.

St. George's Church in Stockport. Taken as I left the annual carol service.

Following a traditional format of nine lessons and carols. The Chamber Choir and Chorus also played a major part, in tackling some very challenging pieces, and were excellent. The Director of Music had set a high bar.

A few years ago it was decided to no longer have compulsory attendance for pupils. Thankfully, the concerns expressed about dwindling attendances were unfounded and tonight there was not a seat left vacant.

A lot of last year's cohort always come along too, as they are able to meet up with their pals and discuss their first term at uni. I was really pleased to see those who'd been in my form last year and to get updated. Their relationship with school couldn't be more different from the one I had; I am not envious, just thankful that it is so.

By the way, the Christmas cards went down a storm (see yesterday). They couldn't believe that I'd gone to the trouble of making them. It's sometimes the little things that matter most.
