Fortune

This was a random find -- just laying on the table we chose to eat our lunch at one day. I thought it might be prophetic -- it was nearing the end of the semester, and this whole "grad school" thing was especially overwhelming (don't worry, me and Irreducible have a plan for just in case, of course). Was it time to reevaluate?

Yes and no. It's always good to keep perspective, but ultimately I survived this semester with good grades in my classes, and today I turned in the grades for the classes I teach. I learned a lot, grew a lot, met some truly amazing people, and had a lot of fun in between bouts of tearing my hair out. I'm glad it's over, but I'm also glad it happened.

It's always odd to have that weight of the semester lifted off my shoulders though -- I feel like I should be doing something, like there's a deadline I forgot about or a class I still have to take. I still have commitments, of course, and just because the semester has ended doesn't mean I have no work left to do. But it's a lot less stress all at once, which is nice and also profoundly bizarre.

Going to watch a bunch of movies in the next few days. Time to relax for a bit.
