Smurf ice cream

Day one of Valencia/Alicante trip.

5am wake up to catch 07.40 flight. Experienced the busiest airport bus ever from Alicante airport. Had lunch at the Spanish equivalent of Subway. Got onto a high speed train to Valencia which, although super comfortable, wasn't high speed at all (wasn't any faster than UK trains at all... It just looked like it could go faster!)

Arrived in Valencia, pleasantly surprised to find that our hotel was not only lovely, but perfectly situated. Wandered around the city, marvelled at the orange trees everywhere that were full of oranges, had gelato as a pre dinner snack and this is where I saw Smurf ice cream. Wasn't brave enough to have blue ice cream, went for coffee and Ferrero Rocher flavours. Nom.

Wandered about more, got told off at a supermarket for trying to take photos of the amazing array of fresh prawns available, went for dinner near the harbour at a highly recommended tapas place where we had overpriced, but tasty, tapas. The place also apparently has a cellar holding up to 20,000 bottles of wine.

And now off to bed, 19 hours after waking up....

Buenas noches!
