You Better Not Pout I'm Telling You Why

Santa Claus visited our village this evening! I took Ophelia along into the square to meet him on his sleigh. She refused at first. The Santa fear has crept in. She soon changed her mind when she found out there might be sweets involved (there was: she got a lollipop. I really need to do the don't take sweets from strangers talk sometime with that child). After that we dived into a friend's house for a welcoming cuppa. They live right on the square, very handy! Later on there was some carol singing in the square accompanied by a brass band. All the village shops had stayed open. We wandered into the co-op where there was punch and mince pies on offer. All very festive, especially given the cold, frosty weather.
