Cuckoo

Why do people buy cuckoo clocks and inevitably they have to turn them off, as the incessant "cuckoo, cuckoo" ends up driving them mad.
This clock has been stopped in its tracks for several years now. It belongs to my sister.
No dancing in and out for the little Swiss wooden man. Having spent time in the past working in Switzerland, I did find them all a bit wooden! God knows what they thought of me?
