Reindeer in Kirwall

I saw this group pass the fire station in Kirkwall and thought that cutbacks meant that the fire appliances would now be pulled by reindeer to save on petrol, with Rudolph's red nose replacing the flashing lights.
Someone told me that this is not the case, the reindeer are an attraction at a local shop.
