Wooden fence and bamboo

This is part of a wooden fence that separates the front and back garden. I must have walked past it thousands of times - and only today, camera in hand, did I notice that part of the fence was filled in with bamboo. It was a lovely blip moment, and also a scary one: how often do we not walk past things, looking, but not seeing?

This, and the really encouraging comments, convinced my to carry on with my weathered/textured wood series - there is so much out there that we simply do not notice, but once on the look out, things just appear (out of the woodwork, so to speak - and pardon the really bad pun!)

The sliver of green in the middle is from my apricot tree.
