A new investment

I was on Mull all day doing a number of different things, including holding a surgery in Tobermory and opening the new timber pier at Fishnish.

An unusual joint investment by local contractor TSL and the Forestry Commission it will secure timber exports from the island in the long term as well as provide a much needed new commercial pier in the Sound of Mull.

The weather was , as they say, mixed - torrential showers of rain and hail interspersed with the occasional bright shafts of sunlight. At those times the quality of the light was amazing, as this shot shows.

Fortunately we managed to get all the formalities over with between downpours.
