Sagadachni Hetman - leader of the Cossacks

Anna met me after work and we had dinner at Puzata Hata (pretty decent Ukrainian canteen on Kontraktova Ploshad).

This is the statue of one of the Cossack Hetman. who always looks ready for battle.

Behind him is the old Jewish trading market, which is being renovated. I liked how one of the cranes has been decorated for Christmas with a row of red lights- a nice touch!

This market has basically been underused since all of the Jews were exterminated in the second world war. Long overdue a facelift. Rumour has it that this whole area is to be pedestrianized.
