A vintage Dennis fire engine
We had a property inspection today. As I'm pretty certain we're not allowed to have the cats, we had to evict them! Arfa took himself off to the shed at about 9.30 but I had to physically put Shadow out the back door and had just done it when the man arrived. Trouble was, Arfa heard me open the door, despite me trying to be very quiet, so came out of the shed and the two of them sat on the door step, staring through the window in the patio door as he took photos of the room! In fact they waited there the whole time he was in the house. After he'd gone, they came back in, had a snack and then went out again, nowhere to be seen!!! I don't know if he bought our explanation that we get visited by all the neighbour's cats!
This afternoon we visited Sav's mate, Vinnie, who's a part-time fire fighter. If our government has it's way all our firemen will be part-time and have to work til they're 75, but don't get me started on that ... ( currently that remark about the age limit is sarcasm, but unless we nip this nonsense in the bud, we will end up with teams of geriatrics turning up to rescue us ... Sorry, I'm not supposed to be ranting ... ).
Anyway, neither he nor Sav know exactly what engine this is a model of, and I have mulled wine to heat up so obviously don't have time to waste on Googling the answer, but it is some sort of vintage Dennis fire engine!
God bless all our firefighters. God help us if our wonderful fire service gets compromised anymore.
