Tree of dreams

Being Christmas there are lots of decorated trees around. Inside most peoples houses will be pine trees either real or fake decorated in various ways. Minimalist one colour trees, every colour under the rainbow trees, finely crafted glass ornaments or home made offerings from children I even know of one tree decorated with fake red apples.

Out side things get more creative, shrubs, bushes even palm trees decorated with lights and tinsel. This is my favourite though. Every time I see it I smile; not because it makes me feel Christmassy but because it takes me back to childhood. To reading Dahl's BFG.

In my imagination this tree is decorated by dreams waiting to be sent to children. In my heart I know the BFG would have kept the dreams this way if he had a tree like this one and no other giants were around.
