Commuting woes

Another mad morning at the station. Can't remember what the problem was this time but all the trains to London were delayed. The platform got busier and busier and the apology announcements got more frequent. Staff were shouting at us to keep behind the yellow line. As we were all getting ready to shove on board a London train, they unexpectedly brought in a train to Southampton into our platform. It had to stay there for ages so that all the passengers could hurtle over the bridge to the right platform.

In good stiff upper lip fashion, there was much tutting and head shaking amongst the waiting London commuters. Only just made it to work in time - unusual for me as I'm usually there half an hour early.
