Heading Home!
It was 6.30am in the morning and I was just getting ready to go for an early morning walk. My eyes nearly popped out of my head when I looked out the window of the hotel and was greeted by the sight of one of the local fishing trawlers making it's way back to the marina. What followed was a procession of fishing trawlers heading home after a long night at sea. That's what I love about Ballina, there's always something happening on the river.
The water was absolutely flat calm this morning, so clear that we could see a large turtle close the the waters edge and off into the distance a pod of dolphins were making their way towards the mouth of the river. Pelicans, seagulls and other bird life abound. It's making it very difficult to select the Blip for the day!
