What do you want now?
I seem to be starting a tradition of always having a picture of the cat on the first day I go home. I guess it is a little bit like a marker and also because I never seem to have time to Blip anything more interesting than that. I did it the last weekend I was home, and also the first day I was home from France. I like to think of her internal monologue on this photograph being something along the lines of ‘what, the hell, is this girl doing’. Cats are so much better than dogs to photograph (sorry, controversial!) as they have more expression to their face. Annoyingly, having a black and white cat means that exposing for her is always fun, but I think I’m getting the hang of it!
So Thom and I woke up rather early this morning since I hadn’t actually packed my case to go home yet and managed to leave with plenty of time to get to the train station. I treated him to pastries and a coffee rather than normal breakfast, because every now and then you have to consume a breakfast that is pastry and sweetness! Lucky we had left lots of time as about five minutes into our journey the bus stopped for no given reason. After waiting two minutes, another passenger piped up and asked what was happening. Turns out another bus was an hour (an hour?!?) late, so we had to wait to pick up those passengers. Fair enough, but when we were five minutes away from the university, and the bus we were meant to take the other passengers off was at the university when the call came through, but took over fifteen minutes to get there…just doesn’t add up. Anyway, the rest of the journey went without a hitch, with Thom being complimented by various people on his Christmas jumper…I don’t know what it is with him and people, he seems to be approached and complimented everywhere! Maybe he just has one of those faces…
Lunch in Liverpool was at The Philharmonic Pub, a must go to if you’re ever in Liverpool. Not only does it have a massive collection of ales, it also has the best pub food going. It is simply amazing, with everything homemade. The burger I had was at least an inch thick, and had obviously been made by hand, and Thom said that his vegetarian burger did not taste like it had been frozen at any point (standard for vegetarians) and that he could actually taste the individual vegetables and flavours in it. So there you go, a massive yes from both of us! We then headed back home and spent the evening with my parents, and April of course. So nice to be home, and even nicer to have Thom there too.
