Choir Concert at the Christmas Market
The students from the music school gave an impressive concert in the (unheated) medieval church at the Murberget museum.
I thought I'd be posting a photo of the crowds outside or the open-air market stalls but with a temperature slightly above freezing, rain falling onto the icy ground and an extremely grey day it was very uninspiring for a photographer.
However, inside the church, lit almost entirely with candles, was another matter. It was very dark, and the candles illuminated the walls with a warm light, making the painting dance. A real inspiration!
The church was packed out and since the interior was slightly colder than the outside we all were very well wrapped up, both audience and performers. Applauding while wearing mittens gives a very special sound, soft but energetic!
The singing was fantastic, especially considering these are students, albeit music students, and not professional performers. They held our attention to 100% and the cold mostly faded away as we listened.
Magic!
