Its beginning to feel a lot like Christmas

Yesterday I walked to Notting Hill checking out the price of trees on the way. The roads were packed with traffic and Christmas shoppers piled onto the pavements.

This morning I went out to get our little tree and in complete contrast, the roads were quiet, it was raining and West London remained firmly in bed.

My neighbourhood has always been one of the first to get it's decorations out. The picture of the day taken in a nearby street. I find it strangely bleak but quite compelling all the same.
