A Yuletide Lad

A few years ago we acquired an Icelandic Yuletide Calendar, which recounts the adventures of the 13 Yuletide Lads, mischief-makers who come down from their mountain dwellings, one each day between 12th and 24th December. Having wreaked their own particular havoc, they leave one by one between Christmas Day and Epiphany (6th January, the last day of Christmas). Today's Lad is Ladle Licker - who in his haste to eat what's in the pot burns his tongue! Having this calendar up has now become one of our Christmas traditions.
