Rain-deer day...
Today was Strathaven's Reindeer day which has become an annual favourite. The reindeer are brought down from Aviemore and can be observed grazing in their pen on Allison Green, then they pull Santa on his sleigh around the streets in the afternoon. It is a nice festive afternoon out. Unfortunately this year the weather could not have been worse as it rained steadily and very heavily all day. The usual stalls and attractions were there but it was only the hardy that stuck around after the sleigh-ride was over.
The more observant among you will have noticed the absence of any reindeer in this shot. Unfortunately I got my times mixed up so by the time I arrived they had just put the last one back in the truck. I did get a quick shot, but it was too blurred and awful for use. So Thomas the Tank engine instead...! :)
