Shedding leaves

our apricot tree is shedding its leaves, along with the grapewine

the olive leaves covering the earth have been laid there to stop too many weeds growing - they will decompose into the soil once the field is ploughed in spring

this is a wintery scene in crete, not usually known to the outside world, as most people associate crete with sun, sea and sand
