Abu Dhabi, UAE

Sailed overnight from Dubai to Abu Dhabi and woke up this morning as we were coming into the port. Weather is hot and dry.

Because we were feeling lazy, we decided to join a Hop On Bus Tour which took us past some beautiful buildings. MrD and I thought we could smell burning (as in brakes) and about an hour later there was a horrible screeching sound whilst we were travelling down a 4 lane highway and the bus pulled over to the kerb. A police vehicle passed slowly and "kaput" was mentioned a few times. A few minutes later two police vehicles and two fire engines arrived behind us, the bus was abandoned at the side of the road as we all piled into a second bus.

We got off the bus at Manarat al Saadiyat, and wandered into a gallery where the above was an exhibit. The artist who created the above is Tadashi Kawamata, I am not familiar with the artist and currently have no wifi in order to do any research. When disembarking this morning we noticed people using computers in one of the port buildings - I will attempt to upload this later.

I have not been able to visit anyone's journals and I hope that everyone is ok. Tomorrow we are at sea all day making our way towards the Straits of Hormuz.
