Plane landing...flying low over Mile End
My Scottish father was entranced when I provided the new suburban address in Adelaide of where then husband, self and children were resident in a new domicile.
Did you say Mile End, he asked, I was born in a house called Mile End. His birth was in 1904 (in Aberdeen, Scotland that is).
When the planes were landing over Mile End (Adelaide) back then 30+ years ago we could see from a vantage point in the yard the faces of the passengers in the windows. 7 o'clock news was wiped off the television and the audio distorted. Today where I was standing to take this pic opposite the frontage of a local church is a ten minute walk from that address. The plane would have flown overheard on the exact same flight path. :)
