Tree of life
Visiting friends for lunch whom we've not seen for far too long.
This tree of life came from Jordan when they were visiting family there. I was told that the mosaic is based on an ancient design and was prepared by apprentices wishing to work in archeology and related subjects. By preparing the modern mosaic they get a feel for the design and structure so that when they find pieces in the field they can begin to picture how the ancient mosaic might be structured.
This was brought back glued to some webbing and inserted into the tiles. Made for both a focal point and a conversation piece.
The blip was either this or Lebanese haggis which was part of a lovely middle eastern lunch. Maybe next time!
