Sierra Nevada

Helen, Jess and I decided to give ourselves the rest of the week off uni in order to go skiing. Seeing as the Sierra Nevada ski resort is only a 45min coach journey out of Granada, it would be rude not to really... Considering how warm it is here still its hard to believe that you'd be able to ski so close by. And the mountains did seem worryingly lacking in snow during the first part of the journey, but by the time we reached the resort patches of white had begun to show. Our first challenge when we got there was to find the office to collect our apartment keys before going on to the apartment itself. And this really was a challenge considering that Google maps is sorely lacking any proper road maps of the Sierra Nevada, and the fact that steep hills and heavy suitcases really don't mix all that well. But we made it eventually, and they even gave us our keys a couple of hours early so we didn't have to hang about all day. Spent the rest of the day exploring the resort a little and searching for last minute ski gear and ski hire. Luckily they let us leave everything in the shop so we didn't have to do more heavy lifting up and down the hill. In the evening we went out for dinner and drinks, despite being so close to Granada the prices were unsurprisingly not so cheap...
