A Tiger For You, Mum

It was the closest day, Mum, to your birthday we could manage to take you out for a treat. You have such a busy social life! We chose to take you to the South Lakes Wild Animal Park. You didn't enjoy the long journey and when we got there it was raining: you felt cold.

We pushed you in your wheelchair to see the tiger first and noted the feeding time. Although we were getting very wet, our friend took turns helping to push you around to see as many of the animals as we could. It wasn't easy for you, being so low down, to take photographs, but you got a lovely one of the Fennec fox.

I was so pleased, when we took shelter in the restaurant at lunchtime, that you enjoyed the carrot and coriander soup. I loved the log stove and the huge Christmas tree.

At every opportunity you got out your camera but, unfortunately we couldn't see the tiger being fed and the jaguars were so very, very fast that you missed getting a shot. We will be better prepared next time, we will go again when the weather is better!

I have lots of lovely shots which I will share with you but, for today, I want the Sumatran tiger to be my blip. Just for you, Mum, x
