It is a joyous weekend in the little town of Troon this weekend.

It's been 22 long months since Lido burnt down. And now. Ta da. Now it's back.

I cannot contain my excitement. Oh yeah, we have pubs. We have hotels. We have one nightclub.

But until Lido, we didn't have somewhere you could walk in at 9.30 in the morning. Have creamy coffee and breakfast.... chat lots over breakfast. Discover it's lunchtime, have a glass of wine and a nibble for lunch, think that a cocktail is a great idea, and before you know it, it's bed time.

Atmosphere was always chilled. You could dress up, you could dress down. You could sit alone, you could sit in a crowd.

I was just picking Si up tonight, and I drove past twice, gazing longingly in the window ...
