Myrrh is mentioned in a number of places in the Bible. It's a little bit like technology. Can be used for good and bad.

The Christmas link however is with the Magi visiting Christ: "On coming to the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasures and presented him with gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh."

Myrrh also finds a place in Christ's crucifixion and burial, so reminding us why Jesus came and lived among us...
