The Set

Finally finished this set of hand hammered bowls.... There is such a sense of achievement when you make something from scratch with your own hands. The first four inch bowl in guilding metal is a copy of an eight sided bowl I made for a good friend. Hers is special with her own grieving tears burnt into the metal. I added gold dust in the hope of a future for her. This copy is a mere replica without the soul. The second four sided five and a half inch copper bowl in response to being told the first bowl was smaller than expected. The third is a seven inch four sided guilding metal monument to my own stubborn self. It took three weeks of hammering,patinating and polishing and will remain on my kitchen table to remind me of one of my flaws, my stubborn nature.
I am off out for dinner now with my camera club but there's a caveat to my enjoyment. I have my two year old grandson from half eight in the morning...Not complaining though....Love him to bits.....just saying
